It wasn’t too long ago that we told you about Cognizance and their upcoming EP, _Inceptum. We’re quickly nearing the fall release window, and the band have appropriately just released the first single ‘The Succession of Flesh’ in the form of a lyric video. This is 4 minutes of tech-death that you don’t want to miss, with Alex Rüdinger of The Faceless on drums, not to mention the two guest spots from Eyal Levi of Daath and Suffocation‘s Frank Mullen. Check out the song after the jump:

The track holds true to the level of quality we’ve come to expect from these guys, and as far as lyric videos go this one really isn’t that bad, so props to the band in that regard as well. The slick album artwork is instantly recognizable as the work of Dan Mumford, who’s trademark style is always a welcome accompaniment to music like this. We still don’t have a specific release date for  Inceptum, but if it’s coming this fall then it can’t be too far away, and we’re bound to hear more material from the EP soon. When we do, you can be sure you’ll be seeing it covered here on the site!
