In case you haven’t caught on by now, a large part of the staff here at Heavy Blog love everything that has “post” in front of it. Something about those dark and chilly tones, the introspection or the expansive music really gets to us. And so, we’re already at the edge of our seats for the new sleepmakeswaves album, Love of Cartography, due to see release on the 4th of July. Here to fuel this anticipation is a new single from the band titled ‘Great Northern’. Check it out below!

Yes, this is magnificent. The intro features a weird pulse sound, right in the middle of the beat, which really throws you out of sync. The main line, introduced right after the two minute mark, is just so happy and hopeful, filled with wonder, that it puts a smile on your face. The track, in true post rock fashion, reaches its climax around the middle only to then unfold once again into the intro melody. Just like the previous single released from this album, this track promises great things for this release. We can’t wait!
