System Divide isn’t the only band to take an extended break in the last 24 hours. US death metal band Incantation has announced that following the departure of guitarist Alex Bouks, the group will be going on a hiatus.

From the band’s website:

A Fond Farewell/Line-Up Change

March 12, 2014

With a heavy heart we announce the resignation of our long time metal brother Alex Bouks. Over the last few years there have been some rough waters that we have all been navigating. A hiatus is more desired, thinking this is the best thing to do to save the magic that we have all worked together on.

With respect we wish only the best to Alex and his work outside the band. He is truly an amazing musician and we are happy to have worked with him.

So Incantation will likely be joining Ulver in pulling out of Maryland Deathfest this summer. A bummer for sure, but there are still many bands worth the trip. Hopefully they can re-group and pick up another or the future.

UPDATE: 3:00 PM — Maryland Deathfest have confirmed that Incantation are STILL performing. Further details are unknown at this time.
