I’m tired of djent. Seriously. We get it. You own an Axe-FX II and use Superior Drummer samples and know how to do palm mutes in 3/4. It’s just gotten extremely stale. There’s really only a handful of bands that play this kind of music that I still listen to with interest. It’s kind of like how when metalcore began to go stale we were all kind of like “Okay, cool, you do breakdowns in Drop D and synchronize headbanging. Now go back to Warped Tour and play for the kiddies.”
Well, Wings Denied are one of the few bands that I can actually still listen to, not only because they make good music, but because they keep things interesting. For example, here, listen to their re-recorded single ‘Maiden‘ which also happens to feature the awesome Michael Rumple of Lorelei.

It’s a great track, especially the vocals, which are normally a big turn off.They also like to actually write songs that are more than chugs and palm mutes and all of the unnecessary garbage that makes djent boring (see: Born Of Osiris’ TRIANGLE – THE MUSICAL).
