In the year 2015, is there a chance for unadulterated metalcore to be considered worthwhile? If any band can do it, the newly reformed Haste The Day most certainly has the best chance at doing so. I don’t know where I’ve been all year, but I had completely forgotten that the group’s reunion had lead to the creation of a new record until the band dropped a new track, “World” yesterday. Granted, it’s been a good long while since I had heard of the band’s previous work, but it’s good to know that they’re able to craft a killer song even through the disbandment. Give “World” a stream after the jump.
“World” will appear on the group’s new album Coward, the product of a successful crowdfunding campaign wherein the band raised over $140,000 in under a month. It seems like the money was put to good use, because Coward certainly seems promising if “World” is representative of the quality we’ll get across the whole album. We’ll find out when the record drops May 19th through Solid State Records.
