Just last week, Harm’s Way dropped a really cool video for ‘Amongst The Rust’, the second track to be released from their forthcoming LP Rust. The album drops on the 10th of this month but you don’t have to wait ’til then to get your holes invaded by this landing party of metallic hardcore merchants. It is definitely not what I was expecting for sure but more about that after. Listen to the full stream of Rust after the jump.
The stream premiered over at Revolver and since then I have been trying to work out exactly how I feel about it; this is definitely not Isolation or Blinded. The Godflesh influences that the first press release mentioned are spot on here. Forays into straight up, one string riffage are also plenty abundant. The Coal Chamber reunion has a lot to answer for, it may seem. Don’t take this the wrong way, this record is great, definitely more of a change in course than a complete overhaul of direction, Rust is aggressive, dark and heavy as hell. Think of Sepultura and Ministry having unlubricated, mechanical music sex. Somewhere in that vivid nugget of imagery is the new sound of Harm’s Way.
Rust is still available to preorder at this location(as well as your usual platforms) and is out on March 10th through the all conquering Deathwish Inc.
