Thomas Giles, the solo project of Between the Buried and Me frontman Tommy Rogers, will see its sophomore album Modern Noise drop late this month. The progressive and experimental rock outing features Rogers’ former bandmate Will Goodyear taking up percussive duties where the previous effort Pulse saw Rogers handling all the instruments himself. The more collaborative nature of Modern Noise — which also features guitar work from BTBAM’s Paul Waggoner on ‘I Appear Disappear’ — is the subject of the album’s first studio video, wherein Goodyear gives an overview of his involvement with Modern Noise and his history with Rogers and BTBAM against footage of drum tracking and bits of new music. Check it out below.
Modern Noise is one of the few albums left in 2014 that I expect to throw a wrench in my already existing top-10 list of favorites. It will see release November 25th through Metal Blade records. Pre-orders are available here (vinyl/bundle) and here (CD/bundle).
