Despite their recent string of reunion shows for the past few years and a headlining spot at Maryland Deathfest 2014, none of us were holding our breath for a new album from the fathers of melodic death metal, At The Gates. However, the band have uploaded a short cryptic new video to their YouTube channel, leading many to believe the group have a new album planned for this year. Woah!
I don’t know what else this could possibly mean; this looks like an obscured shot of some lyrics on a computer screen. Can they pull a Carcass or a Gorguts, or will this be a farce? Of course we’re hoping for the former. Fingers crossed we can go to Maryland Deathfest and hear some new material from the group for the first time in nearly 20 years. More word when we get it!
