An Autumn For Crippled Children - Try Not To Love Everything You Destroy

As was asserted by HBIH editor-in-chief Jimmy Rowe last November, An Autumn for Crippled Children‘s album Try Not To Destroy Everything You Love was comparable to fellow blackgazers Deafheaven‘s Sunbather in the following way:

Sunbather seemed to be the hit to beat when it comes to romanticized and dreamy black metal this year, and while An Autumn For Crippled Children will likely never be able to achieve that amount of hype, they certainly deserve just as much praise, if not more.

Certainly some high praise given all of the accolades and attention (and yes, backlash) that Sunbather received. Well now that same band has released a followup EP entitled Try Not to Love Everything You Destroy, which you can listen to in its entirety after the jump.

It’s short at just 2 tracks at a little over 10 minutes, but it’s an admirably concise and powerful effort. Whether or not Jimmy’s claims are valid are up to the listener, but AA4CC is surely not a band to be ignored. Use this EP stream as an excuse to dig further into the band’s discography.
