An odd combination, to be sure, but both powerful bands with legacy, Symphony X and Overkill struck out on the road a few weeks back to take North America by storm. New Jersey’s progressive power metal act have just released their ninth album, Underworld [review], after a storied two decade history.
Meanwhile, the legendary thrashers (also from New Jersey) Overkill were touring in support of their seventeenth studio album, White Devil Armory [review].
It seemed a bit of an “off” night for Symphony X, as their performance left something to be desired, as well as their overwhelming lighting situation, but Overkill’s performance was relentlessly fun and energetic. Grab the pictures below!
