When Calculator broke up, it left an undeniable, gaping hole in the collective heart of the screamo/post hardcore. After all, what other bands could kick out such heart felt, powerful jams that not only inspired mashing, but weeping on the floor in fetal position as well? While it may have been truly tragic, and while the scene may never truly recover, it is lucky for everyone that Philadelphia has now produced their own answer to Calculator, and that is Cacciato.

Cacciato picks up neatly where Calculator left off, providing screamo/post hardcore songs that are both immensely intense and extremely melodic. They are driven by a solid hardcore/emoviolence core that helps to push forward more of the passion without allowing it to overwhelm a clear love for more screamo/post hardcore bands such as Pianos Become The Teeth and Touché Amore. The melody is used heavily never detracting from the intensity but instead helping to highlight the more intense, rough around the edges sections. God bless Cacciato, and may they continue to pump out heart felt screamo/post hardcore jams for a much longer time to come.
