If you’re not hip to Sweden’s Tribulation, then you better get hip, because these guys are poised to take the underground metal world by storm with their latest (and might I add most excellent) album The Children of the Night. We previously wrote about the first song they released from the album, and now the band has released another ripper of a new song entitled “The Motherhood of God.” Give it a spin after the jump!
I’ve been jamming The Children of the Night as well as their previous albums all week, and I have fallen head-over-heels in love with Tribulation. I always appreciated them before, but hearing the progression they’ve made over the course of their three albums helped me to finally “get” what they’re going for. “The Motherhood of God” gallops along with its catchy-as-sin guitar licks and a strong classic heavy metal influence and is one of the standout tracks of The Children of the Night. There’s just something about their Judas Priest meets Watain formula that’s enticing and charming in an evil sort of way, and don’t be surprised if Tribulation end up sitting atop many year end lists for what they’ve achieved with The Children of the Night.
Only a couple more weeks until The Children of the Night is released via Century Media. Pre-orders are available here.
