Although they’ve had a reputation for being road warriors over the years, The Dillinger Escape Plan have been relatively quiet as of late. It seems as though they’ve been wrapping up the touring cycle for the fantastic One of Us Is the Killer, and are maybe setting their sights on new music. The band just wrapped up a killer one-off performance at SXSW last week (which we should hopefully have pictures of soon) and have just announced that they’ll be doing a very brief run across the east coast in June! Head over the jump for the dates!
6/16 – Washington DC @Rock & Roll Hotel
6/17 – Philadelphia, PA @Union Transfer
6/18 – Boston, MA @Royale Nightclub
6/20 – New York, NY @ Irving Plaza
Support will be coming from the underground supergroup Mutoid Man, Brooklyn’s post-hardcore outfit Primitive Weapons, and the excellent post-metal assault of Rosetta (who will only be playing the Philadelphia show). Make sure to get there early, as every single band is not one to be missed. Dillinger also has the greatest live show in metal right now, so if you haven’t seen them before, prepare yourself for a night of carnage and bliss. You may get your shirt ripped, you may get bruised up, but you’ll definitely walk away a changed person. And with that poster that the band posted, it’s not a huge stretch of the imagination to think that they just might play their 2004 classic Miss Machine in full? We can only hope.
