Gorguts

The technical death metal band with the highest silly name to intelligent music ratio is back at it again! Gorguts are re-releasing two previous masterpieces from their discography- Obscura (1998) and From Wisdom To Hate (2001). After extensive touring in support of their 2013 LP, Colored Sands, guitarist/vocalist and founding member Luc Lemay relayed this news through facebook to the Gorguts fanbase.

Lemay said that while on tour, “every day [sic] someone would ask… when “Obscura” would be out again,” and for those who were wondering, the question has been answered. The two albums will be released on April 6th and 7th in Europe and North America, respectively. Both covers are retrofitted with the new logo. Lemay says that, looking back, he “realized that [he] never really liked the original one on “Obscura” and wanted to give the record a fresh look.” In addition, both reprints have, along with the original liner notes, commentary by Lemay on his outlook and memories of the album, as well as details and stories of the album’s composition and recording process.
