Australia’s burgeoning metal scene has been gaining quite a bit of international spotlight over these past few years, recently culminating in the country’s shining stars Ne Obliviscaris topping year-end lists the world over with the hotly acclaimed Citadel. Ne Obliviscaris are just the tip of the iceberg, though; Melbourne’s Hadal Maw released one of the best criminally overlooked death metal records from 2014 with the crushing Senium, and Queensland’s Kyzer Soze are poised to turn heads with their impending debut early this year. Further, fellow Aussie staples Truth Corroded have their eyes set on further international touring throughout 2015.

The three acts will team up for Melbourne’s INVASION 13:2:15, a one-off gig featuring support from Metalstorm, Voros, and Hollow World on February 13th, 2015 at Collingwood’s Bendigo Hotel. Heavy Blog Is Heavy is proud to be a sponsor of the event, and we encourage everyone in the region to make it out to the show!

A full breakdown of the event and its acts can be read after the jump.

On Friday the 13th, February 2015, Collingwood’s Bendigo Hotel will be host to an interstate invasion! Acts from both around the country and locally will converge for a night of unrelenting metal bliss, brought to you by HeavyBlogIsHeavy, Metal Obsession and HEAVY magazine.

Surfacing in top 10 lists everywhere and backed by critical acclaim, Hadal Maw’s “Senium” has been hailed as one of the most impressive debuts of 2014. Honing their craft across the country with multiple tours, the production and release of their album and culminating with a much lauded performance alongside Beyond Creation and Ne Obliviscaris at their “Citadel” album launch, Hadal Maw are entering 2015 as a well established name in Australian death metal.

“A monolith: a towering pillar of death metal and atmosphere that swallows the listener whole” Heavyblogisheavy on ‘Senium’

Being named after a brutal crime figure couldn’t be more appropriate in the case of Kyzer Soze, with the release of their latest single ‘Descendants of Cain’ foreshadowing the release of an album which is sure to be one of the most brutal and intense in recent memory. With last year seeing the band share the stage with Aborted, Ulcerate and The Amenta, Kyzer Soze’s debut, to be released nationally via Truth Inc Records, will be a force of devastating proportions.

Truth Corroded is a band that needs little introduction, setting off on their biggest journey yet with the release of their latest album “The Saviours Slain”. Truth Corroded is no stranger to extensive international touring, this time touring their album across Asia supporting bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder and Fleshgod Apocalypse, adding to an already impressive resume that includes sharing the stage with Lamb of God, Behemoth, Arch Enemy, Fear Factory and more. With 2014 seeing them pen a deal with European label AFM records and an international management deal with the Extreme Management Group, you can expect to see Truth Corroded traversing the globe a lot more throughout 2015.

Metalstorm will be backing up the local contingent with their unique approach to blackened thrash which has won them a strong cult following around the country, lending support to national staples such as Psycroptic, Ruins, King Parrot and Desecrator, as well as internationals such as Krisiun, Municipal Waste and Merauder. After following up the release of their 12” entitled “I Saeculum Obscurum” with a tour of Japan alongside Mors Principium Est and Beyond Creation, this year the band is set to release their third EP along with continued national and international domination.

Making their Melbourne debut, Adelaide’s modern metal powerhouse Voros are ready to level any unsuspecting listeners. Fans of Gojira, Lamb of God and At the Gates best get down early to experience this rock solid onslaught. Their music video Mired in Perpetual Deceit is due for release this month.

Melodeath newcomers Hollow World will be kicking things off. With new vocalist Ben Roberts (Series, ex-Untruth) in tow, Hollow World have a live show that is well beyond their years.

RSVP and keep up with the event over at Facebook.
