anaal nathrakh desideratum

Okay, sure, UK’s blackened grindcore Anaal Nathrakh are guilty of playing the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” game for basically the entire discography. And yes, Scott said as much in his 3/5 review of the group’s new album and Metal Blade debut Desideratum. The act are consistent in tone and substance, but they’re also consistent in quality as well. Desideratum is absolutely what fans of Anaal Nathrakh have come to expect, so take the criticisms lobbied at the album with a grain of salt, because the band haven’t faltered one bit.

Don’t just take my word for it though; Noisey are hosting an exclusive stream of the group’s new single ‘The One Thing Needful’ and it’s as epic, apocalyptic, and devastating as you could hope for from Anaal Nathrakh. Say what you want about the band, but they’ve still got it and sound just as pissed as ever.

Desideratum will be out October 28th via Metal Blade Records, but you can pre-order the album at this location. You can also catch the elusive band performing live at the following dates if you’re geographically-privileged:

October 31st (UK) GLOUCESTER – Olympus Theatre
November 1st (UK) LEEDS – Damnation @ University Union
