A few days ago, death metal masters Obituary gave us a teaser of their highly anticipated forthcoming album, Inked in Blood. Now the band has released a full song from the album, “Visions in My Head”, to whet our appetites, and whet them it does. Listen after the jump.
Aside from the so-so drum production, the track sounds great. It’s obvious that the kick drums are triggered to hell, but then again, I think that this old-school production style suits Obituary well. Trevor Peres’ riffs sounds as vicious and feral as ever, and the whole song just screams classic Obituary. Good stuff.
Additonally, Obituary have launched pre-orders for Inked in Blood, which will be released on Oct. 28 via Relapse Records. Check them out here. There’s a pretty cool deluxe digipak CD edtion and a few limited mail order edition LPs, so get on it before they’re all gone!
