Combining the abrasion of industrial metal with the theory and technical finesse of jazz, Norway’s SHINING have been a beacon of creativity and a strong case for the avant garde since their breakout album and sound-defining album Blackjazz in 2010. The band continued the formula for 2013’s One One One to fine results, further cementing the “blackjazz” genre niche that they alone occupy.
And it’s not just on record that they wow audiences; the band are a phenomenal live act. The group’s new video for ‘Blackjazz Rebels‘ was recorded at a SHINING live show, and while the audio track is the studio version, you can get an idea of how wild a SHINING gig can be.
