You may remember Summer Slaughter and the American tour-package that managed to rile the internet up by daring to change their direction and picking up Periphery and Animals As Leaders, alongside Cattle Decapitation and Revocation last year. Naturally, every mouth-breather and his brother took it as a personal insult and it resulted in some of the funniest and by extension saddest complaining I’ve ever seen on the internet. And that’s saying something.
So instead, it looks like the rumours are pointing towards something all the more traditional with the following bands being teased through their Facebook page:
- Morbid Angel
We mentioned it before, but it’s probably worth bringing up again, the first band teased was none-other than Morbid Angel, who, if my previous experience of seeing was any indication, have a good habit of playing purely classics and not much from the new album (and that’s coming from someone who didn’t think it was THAT bad). - Dying Fetus
Next in the line was the kings of ultra-brutal death metal, Dying Fetus, who have to be one of the most tight and enjoyable live acts around these days. They came about with a post referencing their beautifully entitled track ‘Pissing In The Mainstream‘. - The Faceless
Pretty much a no-brainer when you consider their affiliations. Also, probably one of the only bands that could possibly keep a large portion of both sides of the fence happy. - Flotsam And Jetsam
Making their announcements a little more straight forward this time around — they’re band that I enjoy, but not one I ever would have considered for this tour package. - Black Breath
Some superbly filthy and crusty Entombed-core? That’s a plus for any line-up to be honest.
So, there you have it. Like I said before, it’s a little more of a ‘traditional’ Summer Slaughter line-up but I’m sure people will find something to complain about soon.
