Just in case you didn’t believe me when I said that the new Twilight record, III: Beneath Trident’s Tomb, was a “brilliant swansong that takes an intense microscope to some of the more forward thinking dark crevices of black metal”, then you can check for yourself over at Invisible Oranges, who are streaming the eight minute long mid-tempo dirge that is ‘Swarming Funeral Mass‘.
‘Swarming Funeral Mass‘ is by far one of the more obtuse tracks on the record, driven by hydraulic-powered synths and droning guitars for the majority of it’s bleak lifetime so it’s not exactly indicative of the entire thing, but if you like your black metal drowning in it’s own sorrow and dripping with distortion then you’ll find a new love here.
