While a handful of the bands who shaped the sound of melodic death metal have gone the way of the “modern metal” graveyard, the bands Omnium Gatherum and Dark Tranquillity have maintained quality throughout their respective discographies. This makes their recent pairing for a North American trek all the more enticing. So much so that resident photographer Maclyn Bean couldn’t wait a month for the bands to come to his hometown of Philadelphia, PA and instead took the trip to the band’s New York City stop at Stage 48.
