Last year, Relapse announced that they had signed Philidelphia-based shoegaze group Nothing and debuted the band’s first single, ‘Dig.’ Heavy on the My Bloody Valentine guitar fuzz, dreamy atmospheres, and moody singing, Nothing seems like quite the counterbalance to the rest of the Relapse roster. Great plan, in my opinion; grindcore, doom, and death metal are all amazing genres, but diversity is definitely welcomed when it comes to one of my favorite record labels. It’ll certainly help Nothing stand out when they drop their debut album Guilty of Everything this year.
A trailer for the album has been made available below, which shows off the artwork, release date, and a sample of a new album track, ‘Endlessly.’
Pre-orders (which include limited vinyl pressing with some neat die-cut packaging) and tour dates (with Weekend) have been posted over at Relapse Records. Guilty of Everything will be out March 4th! In case you missed it last year or simply need reminding on why Nothing matters (heh), you can stream the single ‘Dig’ below:
