Say what you what, but La Dispute are fantastic. Sure, their “tumblrcore” fans toting their Nikon vintage cameras are the absolute worst, but their music is pretty great, and their lyrics are even better. The last time we got a studio record from the band was back in 2011 with the acclaimed Wildlife, and it was about time for the band to release a new album. Luckily, on March 18th, we’ll get just that, with Rooms Of The House being released via Better Living.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our collective gratitude to all of you for sticking with us. Although quiet, we’ve been quite busy this past year. It’s a bit of a blur to be honest –
(the start / a month long cabin retreat / several weeks of discussions / studio b / first, second, third, fourth, and fifth drafts / why is it still snowing / countless demos / a few more days in the studio / kevin’s in the boat again / better living / two more weeks in the studio / scrap this song / recycle that song / trevor / studio c / actually – on second thought, scrap that song too / pool night / studio v / el limon / rearranging the living room / fireplace / fire pit / the library / the rx-11 / that bird / quiet going up the stairs please / chopping wood / the finish)
– but we’re finally there and ready to fill in the blanks.
We proudly present to you:
