Once again, I’m back with another exclusive premiere! This time around, we’re headed down under to Australia, where a number of new awesome metal acts have begun to take shape. One such act goes by the name Gvrlls, and they play some really heavy hardcore music. It still retains a bit of that signature Aussie vibe to it, however. Today, we’re proud to be hosting an exclusive stream of the new EP, entitled Protect Us From The Ones We Love. Check it out below!
I absolutely love this EP. It’s heavy, has some really cool riffs, and is super energized. This band seems like a band very rooted in post-metal and post-rock music, and some of the softer parts are very reminiscent of bands such as Pelican and Caspian in some ways. For example, the song “Collapse, And Still Lost” has a middle section that sounds as if it could be placed in a Pelican song and work really well. Then you have some really heavy as hell hardcore that just rips your throat out with one violent motion. If you’re a fan of hardcore, I can bet you’ll be a fan of this record. Be sure to pick up the album when it drops on October 15 via Art As Catharsis!
