Caspian 2013 Tour

Caspian‘s Waking Season was a great post-rock album. While it may not have made my year end list, it was definitely in my top 3 among post-rock releases. And now they are going to do a North American tour! And to add to the awesomeness that will already ensue, they’re taking Junius and Native on tour along with them. Not so familiar with Native, (but they must be killer), but Junius is a great band, and Reports From The Threshold Of Death was a fantastic record with a mix of doom, post-rock, progressive metal and even some ambient elements all mixed in. Catch the full dates below and follow the band on Facebook!!

Caspian are definitely one of the better post-rock bands out there. If you need further reference, check out Tertia and then refer back to this article. Anyways, with the release of their new album Waking Season, their first in nearly 4 years, on the horizon, it was only inevitable that it either leaked or will be streamed. Ladies and gents, it has happened!

Spin is now streaming the full album over at their website. You can check it out at this location. In the meantime, you can order their new album here. They have beautiful vinyls, and the digipack CD is also spectacular. Waking Season is out September 25th on Triple Crown Records.

Based right here where I live in Asheville NC, (young) American Landscape use a wide array of instruments and sounds to create a very relaxing yet powerful post rock atmosphere. The instrumental music is akin to that of bands such as This Will Destroy You, Caspian, and Mono, featuring lengthy songs that slowly build up to powerful climaxes with plenty of reverb and delay along the way. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them play live numerous times, and rest assured that the beautiful landscapes that they paint with their music are just as gripping and intoxicating when experienced first hand. The band are currently gearing up to release their debut full-length, and you can have a little taste of it right here:

If you’re digging this then be sure to keep tabs on their facebook page, and check out the album when it comes out!
