I don’t know quite how we’ve never actually featured Shokran on Heavy Blog before as quite a few of the staff are big fans. Just last year the band released Supreme Truth, an album which made more than a handful of us internet metal types stand up and notice. Shokran play progressive metal laden with fat grooves and layers of Oriental style synths. The dust has barely settled and the band have now released a track titled ‘Creatures From The Mud’, coinciding with the release date of the new full length. Get it after the jump.

The track is available for streaming and purchase in both instrumental and non-instrumental versions (Supreme Truth was made available like this also, a nice touch if you ask me) at their Bandcamp. ‘Creatures From The Mud’ is another stellar track with far superior vocals this time round. Admittedly, I did prefer the instrumental version of Supreme Truth. The Oriental themes and keys are a bit less prevalent on this new track but it still stacks up there along the best of heavy progressive metal today. Fans of Slice The Cake and Nexilva should take note.
The new album (seemingly titled Exodus) will be released on July 17th, presumably in both instrumental and non-instrumental versions. Check out Supreme Truth below if you dig the new track.
