By now, everyone here should be familiar with As Oceans. They’re good friends of ours, and we all enjoy their music. Last year, they achieved a personal milestone by playing at Knotfest, and they have plans to try and repeat this year and go back. With a new album due out soon, it’s only fitting that they chose us to host a new song and lyric video for their song “Passage”, so check it out below!

Kit Brown (bass) had this to say about the song:

It’s melodeath, djent, post rock, and chunky death metal all wrapped up in a mid-2000s metalcore aesthetic.

He’s right on all facets of this song. It’s definitely a head-scratcher as far as labels go, but I really dig it. I’m a sucker for anything that’s just all encompassing and super heavy. Do not be fooled, I am not singing their praises simply because I know the guys in the band. If the music was not up to snuff, we would not host it here. I’m merely stating facts, and the fact of the matter is that the new album is definitely going to be a banger if this song is any indication. Seriously, if you haven’t listened, then don’t keep sleeping on this band and listen now. Be sure to follow the band on Facebook for more info and updates about the new album!
