The best Egyptian-themed technical death metal band out there is unquestionably Nile. Sure, you’d think it’s a niche way too small, but there is a surprising amount of those out there. But as I said, I don’t think anyone would question Nile created and won that game. Their ferocity and authenticity is unparalleled. Well, good news, as they’re releasing their eighth album this summer, and it will be titled What Should Not Be Unearthed. They’ve already talked about the album in some detail, so check it out after the jump!

Guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders, the man with the plan, has said that this album will have a bunch of memorable and heavy sections, unlike the more technical At The Gates Of Sethu. He likened it to Annihilation Of The Wicked, saying: “Although ‘Unearthed’ is still full of the kind of undeniable musicianship people have come to expect from Nile over the years, it’s the songs themselves that will hit listeners over the head this time around.”

Personally, I love every Nile album, and I’ve enjoyed all the spins they’ve put on their sound, so I’m looking forward to this one as well. Some fans were disappointed with the overly complex songs in Sethu, so this might be a welcome change for them. The album will be Unearthed (haha) on the 28th of August on Nuclear Blast. You can pre-order it on their site (they only have it up on their EU site right now, but the USA site will probably update soon as well).
