Canada’s fiercest melodic hardcore exports Counterparts unveiled a drum cam video of a new song called ‘Burn’ via their Facebook page this past Friday. Singer Brendan Murphy revealed in an interview posted later that day that the title of the new album will be Tragedy Will Find Us, and is slated for a late summer release.
He also alluded to a new label in the interview, and posted a pic from his Twitter with the caption “Fun at the Pure Noise office”, which leads us to believe that Pure Noise Records (Rotting Out, The Story So Far) may be the band’s new home.
The band has been abnormally low-key recently, having snuck in and out of the studio to record the new album, and also separating from Victory Records without much fanfare. No official announcements have been made regarding the new album or the label split, but you may stay tuned here and to the band’s Facebook page for further developments. For now, both the aforementioned interview and live performance of ‘Burn’ will have to suffice.
