One of the many bands on Unique Leader Records putting out a new album in 2015 (seriously, a lot of UL bands are releasing new stuff: WRVTH, Ovid’s Withering, and The Zenith Passage, to name a few), Vale of Pnath is exactly what you should expect from the label: mind-melting techdeath smattered with other influences into a combo that is somehow both unique and very typical of a Unique Leader band (not that that’s a bad thing at all).

Their last album, The Prodigal Empire, came out way back in 2012, and since then, they’ve clearly been hard at work- the new material, of which they previewed a little over a minute, shows a band that has greatly improved and expanded on their sound. If I had to make a comparison, I’d say this snippet reminds me quite a lot of The Faceless’s masterpiece, Planetary Duality. Sweepy stuff over power chords, tremolo picked melodies- overall, very similar to the feel of PD. Color me excited for the new album.
