A few months ago we told you to listen to post-metal band Callisto. Their somber sound is one of the most unique iterations of post metal out there and their long career has taken them to several interesting places within it. In two days the band will be releasing a new album titled Secret Youth. The band have chosen to grace our ears with a track from the album called ‘Backbone’ which you can stream right after the jump!
Wow. This track is amazing, seemingly going back to the sound the band had before their more relaxed Providence album. The bass on this track is massive, tracking through it with momentum that never stops. Of course the signature vocals are also a high point as they have always been Callisto’s most unique sound. In short, this is getting me incredibly excited for the new album which as said above, will be released in two days.
