Occult black metal group Ascension are one of the best, but also most underrated acts in the modern European black metal scene. Their previous album Consolamentum was a seething cauldron of esoteric darkness, and one of my favorite releases in the genre in a whileץ The band have just announced that they’ve signed a deal with Season of Mist to release their follow up album, The Dead of the World, on December 24th. The album’s cover art has been designed by another veteran of the scene, Erik Danielsson of the mighty Watain. Check out the full release below!
