Rosetta should by now be a household name when it comes to post metal. Their own soot-drenched version of this genre is simply too good to ignore, with past releases winning us over in every way. Post metal bands tend to be enigmatic and sporadic with their releases, so it’s always a joy to see a band maintaining a steady rhythm of releases. It is with great pleasure that we now tell you that you can stream the new Rosetta EP, titled ‘Flies to Flame’, right after the jump!
The thing that struck me first with this release is the interesting place the vocals take in the mix. Almost subdued to the background, the main and backing vocal tracks are barely intelligible, acting more like another bass/abrasive instrument than as true vocals. It took a while to grow on me but after several listens I have learned to love it’s ambient quality. As Rosetta keep on, they only mature and come to their own sound more and more. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this great band.
