‘Kanata’ is one of the most beautiful tracks on this album, setting up the bare bones approach of the first record. It is the Mono sound stripped back to its very essence and this track exemplifies that approach: the lonely piano in the beginning, the emotional tremolo picking, the mournful guitar, are all key elements of how this album works.
This is not a release you want to sleep on. Look for it on the 28th of October in North America. You can preorder it here.
