It’s only been about a day or so since Veil of Maya announced that they’re splitting with long-time vocalist Brandon Butler. Those who would replace him after the jump.
In the official announcement on the band’s Facebook page, it turns out the decision to go in a different way happened during the run-up to the next album cycle.
“Currently we are hard at work on our new studio album and while the music is almost finished, the hunt for a new vocalist is now on.”
It isn’t taking long for would-be vocalists to start uploading audition tapes in hopes of getting the job. Here are a few we’ve come across. As you find more, link them in comments or on our Facebook page and we will add them here.
There’s already a lot of buzz surrounding Chaney Crabb’s audition video. Sure a lot of it has to do with this vocalist’s history with the band Systems and the astounding performance turned in on this audition video showcasing the ability to do both highs and very nasty lows. With all of that, for some reason some people are also pointing out the rather obvious fact that Chaney is of the female persuasion.
Pure Deathcore’s Brian Goetz is well known for his vocal covers on YouTube and he’s already here with his submission for “the hunt”. Check it out.
Beyond The Broken vocalist Alexander Ives is also in early with a vocal audition and a nice comment for what came before, “I wish Brandon all the best and it was a shame to hear he had left :c”
Our own Noyan Tokgozoglu has his own entry on vocals along with another of our cohorts Anthony DiGiacomo with the instruments on this cover.

Josh Benton offers his audition of the song “Crawl Back”. “I also decided to do a raw cover instead of recording it in a studio, so you can see how I can hold up my vocals live.”
We’re keeping an eye out for more auditions. If you’re posting one or come across others, please post them in comments here or on Facebook.
