Meshuggah fans were offered their first glimpse into the band’s upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release, The Ophidian Trek, yesterday, when Drummer Magazine premiered the live performance video for ‘Do Not Look Down’. The Ophidian Trek, as well as a remastered version of the band’s 2004 album I, come as a celebration of the band’s twenty-fifth anniversary, and will be available in North America on September 30 via Nuclear Blast Records. Check out the video after the jump!

If this video is any indication of what’s to come, fans are in for an appealing virtual concert experience. ‘Do Not Look Down’ boasts impressively high quality audio production, and diverse camera angles keep things interesting (especially the close-up on Jens doin’ his thing if you get what I’m sayin’). My only qualm with this any video is the less-than-hype vibes coming from the crowd, who, at times, seem to forget that they are witnessing the legend that is Meshuggah before their very eyes. Debbie Downers aside, ‘Do Not Look Down’ promises great things to come from The Ophidian Trek.
