Tombs are flying high on the release of Savage Gold, a brilliant and technically taxing album. The release is also rich in philosophy, dealing with different concepts of death, life and a possibility of an after life. It should come as no surprise then that their newest video deals with exactly these issues, featuring a host of symbolism and insinuations on these different subjects. I like the balance between band images and disconnected symbols presented here. Usually these kind of videos are either all band, which to be frank isn’t that interesting, or all symbols which is pointless and quickly loses its charm. If you still haven’t heard Savage Gold then you’re doing yourself a disservice. ‘Seance’ is one of the best tracks on it, but there’s plenty more that’s worth hearing.
