There was many a teary eye in Newfoundland Tuesday as progressive metal outfit Protest the Hero released the much-anticipated ‘Mist’ music video, which serves as a tribute to the island. The Whitby, Ontario natives reportedly fell in love with the tiny Maritime province after their first visit, in which they were blown away by the friendliness of the locals. It has since become their favourite stop on tour, inspiring the band to write a song in its honour. See what all the hype is about below!

In addition to a recent three day tour, the band made the trek back out to the island for filming purposes in June.  Said frontman Rody Walker of the fans’ reaction to the release, “It’s definitely the best reception we’ve ever had to a video. It’s remarkable.” If there’s one thing we can point out that sets the metal community apart, it might just be the tight link that exists between certain bands and their fans. This is a great example of one such connection.
