It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard any solid new material from Art By Numbers. The Fresno, CA based progressive metal outfit crafted an excellent album in 2012’s Reticence: The Musical, which was a superb record showcasing heavy classical influences. Since then however, various members have departed, causing the group to change from a then-full lineup to currently only containing the two guitarists Victor Corral and Charlie Robbins. Regardless, they seem to have been staying busy with writing new music and now they’ve dropped a clip showing off some of what they have been working on. This is seriously beautiful stuff here, check it out below.

Although modern progressive metal and classical music seem to be a match made in heaven, the world is still suffering from the massive void left behind by The Human Abstract. Art By Numbers thankfully still appear to be prime candidates to remedy this though, and hopefully soon. Their music can obviously and easily stand on its own, but they are actively seeking a vocalist so that they may transcend their current instrumental state. Ex-vocalist Anthony James did a great job of this in the past, but finding a talented and like-minded singer can be very difficult, so best of luck to the guys in finding a suitable replacement soon. In the meantime, we can all treat ourselves to another spin of their debut record while we are waiting:
