Polish death juggernauts of groove Decapitated have revealed details for their highly anticipated forthcoming album. The effort will be called Blood Mantra, and will see a release on September 26 via Nuclear Blast. The artwork was crafted by Polish artist Lukasz Jaszak, who also did the art for the band’s previous album, Carnival Is Forever, and Wojtek and Slawek Wiesawski produced the effort. Of the album, guitarist and Decapitated founder Vogg has this to say:
“Extreme and groove – I think that’s the best way to describe our new album. This time we feel that we have something totally crushing and huge.
“Blood Mantra” is the most heavy and mature album we ever did in our career. I cannot wait to start to play songs live because riffs are soo deep and powerful.”
Decapitated are a legendary band in my book, and, even in spite of the hardships they’ve endured over the years as a band, they’ve continually proved that they can persevere over anything and somehow become stronger than they were before, and I’m sure Blood Mantra will be yet another testament to this. Carnival Is Forever was hands-down my favorite album of 2011 and, in my opinion, is one of the best death metal albums of the past 5 years. I can’t wait to hear how Decapitated has evolved since then. One thing’s for sure, though: Vogg’s description of the album makes it sound like I won’t be disappointed.
