Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu – Immortality (death metal)
Gotsu-Totsu-Kotsu's specific sound can be a little bit tricky to pin down, until you realise that they just play death metal. At times, their sound can get a little bit folky, slightly proggy, kinda groovy and somewhat techy, often in the space of a single song, but most of the time they just sound like Vader. For all that "Hidden Destiny" seems like it's going to take off into prog or the slap bass spurts on "Anima Immortalia" hints at a deceptively technical foundation, Immortality is about as straight down a death metal album as you can get—especially compared to some of their previous outings—though one thing's for sure, they remain damn good at.
