EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: It's Time To Get Elden With Fell Omen

My friends, I have a treat for you today and it's in a form you might not expect from me: a new track by a project called Fell Omen, a sort of lo-fi, insanely groovy black metal project by Spider of Pnyx.

My friends, I have a treat for you today and it's in a form you might not expect from me (though you should know better by now). This treat is a new track by a project called Fell Omen, a sort of lo-fi, insanely groovy black metal project by Spider of Pnyx (yes, I said "groovy"). Spider of who? Pnyx! Spider of Pnyx has collaborated with blog favorites Mystras and Spectral Lore and runs in the excellent and underrated circles of Greek black metal. Spider of Pnyx also has their own project, Fell Omen, which is gearing up to release its sophomore album, Caelid Dog Summer. That's right, Caelid; all of the Elden Ring sickos like me should be listening even more closely now. Speaking of listening, head on down below for your first taste with the project's "The Fire Is Still Warm".

Excuse me? Where the hell does that groovy riff come from around the one minute and eight second mark? And why the fuck does it come back around three minutes and forty seconds for the sickest doom metal riff this side of Ozzy's demise? Seriously, I cannot stress enough how much I already loved the black metal riffs, but this addition of old school doom and heavy metal into the mix elevates "The Fire Is Still Warm" to new heights. I couldn't help myself from slow head banging to this absolute beast of delivery and momentum. And those vocals! God, the screams on this run the exact line I love between enunciation, emotional impact, and "I am screaming at the sky itself to fall".

All in all, you could say this track has left me extremely excited for this release. Luckily, we won't have much longer to wait as the full thing drops on August 15th. There's another track to listen to and a pre-order right down below on the project's Bandcamp. God it's good to be alive sometimes!
