EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Rosa Faenskap Find "Clarity In Chaos"

The Norwegian band returns with "Klarhet i Kaos" ("Clarity in Chaos") and they couldn't have picked a better title for the track.

Two years ago, I got the chance to premiere a truly pissed off track in the form of Rosa Faenskap's "Reform". The album it came from, Jeg blir til deg, was a truly underrated slab of hardcore, black metal, and punk, mixed together into something with spikes and a lot of energy. Now, the Norwegian band returns with "Klarhet i Kaos" ("Clarity in Chaos") and they couldn't have picked a better title for the track. There's a lot more swirling, "cold" black metal on this track but, somehow, it ends up sounding more focused than their previous work, as if in the chaos the group has indeed found some sort of new direction or guiding principle. It's also the first taste from their upcoming, and as yet untitled, sophomore release, and promises a lot of great stuff for the band's future. Scroll on down below to check it out!

I love this track's structure: it starts off sounding like the band's previous work but the flickering, melodic lead in its background quickly takes over the main thrust of the track. Following the quiet middle of the track (like a dark maelstrom at its center), that lead and all of its black metal sensibilities are given front stage. Don't get me wrong, plenty of that hardcore edge is still here, especially on the vocals and the groove section. But the black metal is the fuel here, creating that signature contrast between vulnerability, struggle, intimacy, and derision that the genre is so good for.

I am genuinely excited to hear what the band have in store for us next so make sure to join me in following their Bandcamp page above for more news (and sounds) as they get ready to release their next album. Until then, indulge yourself in the circling darkness that is "Klarhet i Kaos" and let that expectation build.
