EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Giddy Up With Knives' Rhinestone Cowboy

When I heard "Rhinestone Cowboy", the track we're premiering today, I knew I had something special on my hands.

It's important to keep challenging and pushing yourself in life, right off a cliff. This is my attitude to what I'll cover on the blog; usually I listen to stuff I already know I'll like, but from time to time, I need to take a risk. Clicking through to the email about Knives was such a risk (I know, so daring and brave, clicking on an email). I'm not really a post-punk guy or a hardcore guy but Knives are from Bristol and Bristol fucking rules, especially for music, so I took a chance and hit play on their latest track, "PHD", and I was hooked. Thick, post-punk bass, smashing, groovy drums (god those cymbals hit), and so much funk and spunk on the vocals that I couldn't help but fall in love.

Then I heard "Rhinestone Cowboy", the track we're premiering today, and I knew I had something special on my hands. Take the above formula and add a screeching, feedback-laden guitar riff, satisfying back-and-forths from main to backing vocals, and you've got a killer fucking track. I've played it like twenty times since I first got it a few days ago and now I can't get the chorus out of my head. No, seriously, somebody help because I should be in work calls, going to the gym, and just communicating as a human but instead I go "Rhinestone, Rhinestone, cowboy, cowboy" all fucking day.

Anyway. Spin this stuff really fucking loud and then go on over here to pre-order GLITTER which drops on May 2nd. Don't sleep on these guys because I will personally show up to your house and tell you you're a fucking idiot.
