EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Intrinsic Give You "The Gift"

Intrinsic are a progressive metal band that meld gorgeous synths and metalcore aggression in a way that they said reminds people of VOLA (and I can see that) but which makes me think of a much more underrated band: Existem.

Sometimes the titles just write themselves, huh? Anyway, I am about to drop a review in two hours for a fantastic release from a few weeks ago where I ask for progressive metal that makes me turn my head and lo and behold, I also have a premiere that does that! Intrinsic are a progressive metal band that meld gorgeous synths and metalcore aggression in a way that they said reminds people of VOLA (and I can see that) but which makes me think of a much more underrated band: Existem. If you've been reading my stuff for a while, you know that's high honors. Bottom line, if you're looking for some meaty riffs coupled with more "open" guitars, scintillating synths, and emotive vocals, look no further - just scroll down below and stream "The Gift".

Hell yeah. I've been some time with this track over the last few weeks and while there is a lot to call out, I want to direct you to just past the three minute mark. There is a gorgeous instrumental section where the bass especially shines, carving out this intricate space for itself under the undulating guitars. All of this culminates in the return of the track's main synth line, which I will have and have had stuck in my head for weeks. Blend that all together, add in some truly sick and moving vocals, sprinkle a tight runtime of under five minutes, and you've got everything you need for a good time.

Make sure you head on over to the band's Bandcamp to await more news for a full release following this single and to check out their 2021 album, Event Horizon. It's also good. OK, good talk, go forth and rock out.
