Alright! It's always a good time when a band gets more fun as time goes by, much more than all the nonsense about "maturing" that rules some parts of the metal scene. No such risk here, as Auralayer returns with a killer new single in the form of "Gelozie". In case you need a reminder who these guys are, I first premiered something from them early last year where I declared it was Time For Riffs. Well, it's about that time again, as their latest single has plenty of that sweet, pop-sludge vibes for you a la Torche, Floor (I love citing those two bands together, it's so pointlessly funny) and Kyuss. Head on down below for those thick tones, airy riffs, and altogether Good Fun Time experience!
This has that good desert rock feel all over it and that's no coincidence, as none other than Kylesa's Philip Cope mixed, mastered, and engineered this one. The thick tones work especially well with the track's bouncy main riff, iterated on to become as sweetly infectious as it can through the track's run time. The video is also great, oscillating between the band jamming and...OK, what is that thing they are wearing? It looks like one of those messed up medieval bee-keepers but that can't be it. Right?
To be honest with you, who knows? I wouldn't put it past Auralayer to do something like that and that's high praise. I just love the carefree, groovy vibes that this band is always channeling and it helps that the music cashes all of those checks as well. As summer looms, dive into those good vibes, make sure to grab this single over here, and let the good times roll!
