Skin Failure – Radillac (progressive hardcore, crossover)

A rowdy crossover hardcore band probably isn't what most people expected from vocalist Will Gardner following the dissilution of Black Peaks, but here we are, and the results remain rather impressive.

There was always a dash of Every Time I Die-style chaotic hardcore within Black Peaks sound, but Gardener and co. (who include current and ex-memners of fellow Bristol acts Memory of Elephants and Kainoa) fully lean into it here, while also brining some sludgy Cave In-esque prog along for the ride. Radillac definitely lives up to its name, but there's a lot more going on here than its new junk aesthetic first suggests.
