EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: IT’S TIME TO SING THAT GOOD OL’ “DOOM-WOP” WITH RICKSHAW BILLIE’S BURGER PATROL

Some people in the music scene would have you forget that music can be fun sometimes. Not always; sometimes, you’re looking for cosmic insight into the human condition or whatever. But sometimes you just want to, well, rock the fuck out.

Some people in the music scene would have you forget that music can be fun sometimes. Not always; sometimes, you’re looking for cosmic insight into the human condition or whatever. But sometimes you just want to, well, rock the fuck out. Should you be in the particular mood on this illustrious Thursday, I would like to recommend that you check out this track from Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol. That’s right, Rickshaw Billie. Burger Patrol. Its album’s title track, “DOOM-WOP” comes to us from this Austin-based ensemble with one goal in mind: to set our hearts ablaze with the spirit of doomed out, stoned-in (what am I even typing) rock n’ roll. Head on down below to have some fun, dammit!

This track depends on the holy trinity balanced between evocative vocals, powerful guitar tones, and a big groove section. There’s very little pretense but a whole dollop of kick, conjuring the sounds of early Red Fang or Dead Quiet. Namely, the track’s main riff is designed to make you head-bang while the bass and drums move the rest of your body, inducing it to gyrating dance in the sanctity of your room or, should you be possessed of the requisite self-confidence, on the streets of your city. Whatever the case, the vocals are here to make sure that the track is also varied, strumming on emotions of nostalgia and perseverance.

Stick all of that together and run it in a tight, four track EP and you’ve got yourself quite the satisfying release. It was released today and you can head on over to the Bandcamp page above to grab it. Consider doing it immediately; it’s a great soundtrack for one hell of a fun weekend.
