While the metalhead who listens to synthwave has become a cliche, I don’t really care; synthwave is just so good when done right. Sure, there’s a ton of dross out there but hey, metal shouldn’t judge (most of metal is dross, if we’re being honest). But goddamn are there artists out there who nail just about everything I love about synthwave. Dan Terminus is one of those artists, rising above the crop with his brilliant 2015 release, The Wrath of Code.

Well, guess what? Terminus is back! Blood Music, one of our favorite labels working in the underground, will be releasing his Automated Refrains on November 10th, 2017. Before we continue, click here and pre-order. Got it? Great. Let’s get to the business at hand today.

From this upcoming release we’re proud to premiere today a certain track which goes by the name “Deus Mecanics” and boy, does it go hard. It has all the trademark Terminus sounds: the initial beat is fast and aggressive, the robotic voice sample at the middle is pure joy and the synths near the end are epic enough to garner comparisons to projects like Neurotech. Overall, “Deus Mecanicus” is yet another brilliant track from the synthwave artist with the best cover art around (I mean, come ON, it’s just so good!) and you should play it loud. Preferably while cruising into Mega City One on your hoverbike.
