Good afternoon, everyone! Once again, I’m here with what has become quite the regular feature around these parts. I have another premiere for you guys, some more new music that will help fill the time and entertain you simultaneously! Today we’re hosting the full album stream of Chile’s very own upstart progressive metal act Bauda. These guys blend a penchant for classic progressive rock with more modern sensibilities and some somber, melancholic vibes to boot. The entire thing goes a lot of places, so make sure to give it a thorough listen through, at least once. Check it out!
Right off the bat you can tell that this young band has a very deep appreciation for those artists that came before them. I am hearing a lot of Dream Theater-eqse stuff, and there’s also some really cool elements of prog rock as well. Turns out the band have a deep appreciation for bands like The Pineapple Thief and Anathema as well, and pop-rock choruses appear just as much as heavy riffs and cool electronics. The band still has some work to do, but they show significant promise and my hope is that they’ll begin to make a name for themselves in the metal community, and also in the progressive community. The album drops next week on the 20th via Temple of Torturous Records, so be sure to follow the band on Facebook and pick up the album when it releases next week!
